Keep the Tip: Battery Maintenance

Many RV’s have deep cycle wet cell batteries as their house batteries. This style of battery is designed to be drained and charged constantly. We use two 6V golf cart batteries wired together to make 12V.

These batteries are not without their maintenance needs. On top of keeping them clean, which a spray on battery protector can do, we check their water levels and refill them as necessary. The video below shows how we fill ours.

  1. Great Video! I learned a thing or two. I knew they needed water but didn’t know about the plates and crystallization.
