Working at a Pumpkin Lot: Week 5

This week continued with more rain and cold temperatures but cleared up midway and we experienced the busiest weekend yet!  We sold over 300 traditional orange pumpkins within the weekend alone!  Plus, we sold the lot’s biggest pumpkin!  This week’s episode breaks away from the ho-hums of our everyday routines and instead focuses on the customers that frequent our lot!

Week 5: 10/15/18 to 10/21/18

Monday: Rainy and cold…very slow day:(

Tuesday:  Cloudy and some rain…more mums delivered…possibly the last load…or not…

Wednesday: The sun peeked out and so did customers!  Time for some actual sells!

Thursday:  Some extra hands came to help spruce up the place since we were having areas of overgrown grass.  After mowing and weed eating, we set out more pumpkins!

Friday:  More customers and more sales!!!!

Saturday:  We were swamped today!!! I was glued to the checkout box and Levi was scrambling around with another worker between parking jams, hauling bales to trucks, riding the train, and looking after the lot/customers.  That night a couple of college guys came and bought about 10 bales of hay.  Then they bought the biggest pumpkin on the lot!  Bye-bye pumpkin!

Sunday: Even busier day!!! Orange is the new green!! Cha-ching!  Pumpkins and straw bales began dwindling so we started selling off our displays.  The tent is looking pretty bare now.

Till next week….
